Scope: Providing at Stevens Institute of Technology, one of the nation’s oldest and most distinguished private research universities. Mr. Caamano is furnishing project management services for the new 90,000-sq.-ft. Gateway Academic Center. The $70 million complex will include two four-story buildings located at the intersection of Hudson and Sixth Streets in Hoboken. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, it will house 10 leading-edge laboratories, 11 new classrooms, and space for 45 offices. Many of the upgrades were designed with sustainability as a driving factor with a goal of LEED Gold certification.

Scope: At Bellevue Hospital, Mr. Caamano’s work included 13 distinct projects, including 11 priority mitigation projects (PMP), with a budget of $480 million. His responsibilities included tracking project milestones, including conducting weekly project team meetings to analyze potential delays and conflicts; reviewing designs and drawings to ensure constructability and quality; generating and reviewing contract award letters; appraising design schedules and estimates; and coordinating work among the construction manager, client/owner, and facility staff. Mr. Caamano also produced bi-weekly reports that included project schedule updates and critical path items and recommendations, as well as a four-week lookahead; attended semi-weekly internal meetings with the NYCEDC, weekly design meetings, and monthly facility meetings; and maintained master and project-specific budgets and schedules.

Scope/: Oversaw the day-to-day management of two projects at Columbia University’s Teachers College, the nation’s oldest and largest graduate school of education. Serving as a stand-in for the school’s in-house capital projects staff, Mr. Caamano provided project management services; interfaced with all project stakeholders, including the Facilities, IT, and Public Safety departments; worked directly with representatives of the main client end user, the Gottesman Libraries; and supervised the project architect and construction manager. The two projects included a $10 million gut renovation and conversion of a 12,000-sq.-ft. library, located on the fourth floor of Russell Hall, into a new state-of-the-art digital learning center. Work also included a $1.4 million reroofing project. Mr. Caamano’s responsibilities included QA/QC, schedule oversight, and change order analysis.

Scope/: Mr. Caamano’s ability to forecast and properly phase the work led to the project’s timely completion and on-schedule building occupancy. Mr. Caamano's oversight responsibilities included coordinating the excavation and multiple phased concrete pours, final utility connections, and the installation of precast pavers, aluminum/glass railings, and final plantings. The 14-story facility, dedicated as the Roy and Diana Vagelos Education Center, achieved LEED® Gold certification. It houses a 300-person auditorium; state-of-the-art assembly and classroom spaces, including an advanced simulation center for immersive, simulation-based medical education; an anatomy laboratory; administrative space; and a student commons, lounge, and café.

Scope: Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott. 215 Pearl Street is Ground up construction that will have 39 stories and 322 hotel rooms. 168,155 sf / 200-Room Courtyard, 122-Room Residence Inn with public facilities including lounge, roof top bar, restaurant, meeting facility, exercise room, lobby, and reception retail area.

Scope: $600 million in federal funds has been allocated to help eligible primary Homeowners repair or rebuild their Super Storm Sandy impacted homes. The Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has contracted with a RREM Program Manager to assist Homeowners throughout the construction process. The RREM Program Manager will work with you to develop specifications for the work to be completed, obtain bids from a builder, assign a builder to each Homeowner, inspect the construction while it is in progress, and approve payments to the builder.
Emergency Department (ED) Expansion
Value: $17.8 million (Construction Managers) Fee-based
Space: 34,200 square feet
Scope: The new ED will provide code conforming space with provisions for privacy, isolation and specialty care (i.e. Asthma Care, Gynecology, ENT, and SART) in an enhanced and staff friendly environment. The project consists of 2,200 sf of new construction and 32,000 sf of renovated space, totaling 34,200 sf for the combined project. The ED will have a new walk-in front entrance connected to separate, adjacent and interconnected areas for Adult Acute Care,
Expansion of Psychiatric Inpatient Wing
Value: $5.8 Million (Construction Managers) Fee based
Space: 15,300 square feet
Scope: Behavioral Health Administration, and the Renovation of 10C space. The project will be executed in two phases. Phase 1 Make Ready consists of modifications to existing rooms covering approximately 3,000 square fPhase 2 New Inpatient Psychiatric Unit consists of renovation of the 10th floor C-Wing of the Hospital to convert the space into a new 30-bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. There will be thirteen semi-private rooms and four private rooms. The project is approximately 12,300 SF in area
Position: Assistant Superintendent,

Space: 13 story addition and 350,000 square foot renovation
Scope: The Project is divided into three primary areas of work: renovation of an existing building, mechanical infrastructure upgrades, and the development of a new facility. The facility is expanding the long term care capacity to 301 beds (from the original 210), and upgrading the services to include shared baths, recreation areas, and country-style kitchens. Various medical departments are receiving renovations, among them Pediatrics, Medicine, Imaging, Dental, Surgery, Podiatry, OB/GYN, Adult Behavioral Programming, WIC, and Pharmacy departments. A 3,500 SF “bump-out” connecting the old and new facilities will also be built to create space for the additional bed count.

Space: K. Hovnanian 48 Story, 420 unit condominiums (77 Hudson St), Equity Residential 46 Story, 440 unit rental (70 Greene St) and 10 Story, 996 car parking garage
Scope: Construction consisted of two 50-story, 981 unit residential towers, a 10-story, 1,000 car garage, and a 10,000 SF ground floor area for high-end retail space. The entire project totals 1.5 million SF on the Jersey City waterfront. The concrete cast-in-place structure supported at grade by massive grade beams and pile caps and thousands of 20-30 foot deep piles, added to one of the most complex single structural packages awarded in Jersey City. The towers contain both condominium and rental apartments, all outfitted with floor to ceiling curtain wall, hard wood flooring, marble bathrooms, European-style kitchens, and high-end appliances. There are also fitness centers, saunas, private theater rooms, virtual golf, cafes, libraries, business centers, and an outdoor Olympic size swimming pool.

Space: 217, 561 square foot building, four exterior football fields and one interior football field
Scope: Provided preconstruction and construction management services for the new training facility which is located on a redevelopment site. The 26 acre site houses a 217,561 SF., two-story campus building containing both training facilities for the players and the corporate headquarters for the entire Jets organization. Attached to the campus building is a clear span field house, housing a full artificial turf practice field with adequate headroom for practice for the “special teams”. Adjacent to the campus building are three natural turf fields and an additional artificial turf field, as well as parking, storm water retention, and equipment shed for field maintenance.
